Champions World Resort Orlando Florida Reviews

If you want to get a real feel for a hotel, nothing beats reading about the experiences of past guests. TripAdvisor, Booking.com, Yelp, and a hundred and one other sites are chock full of reviews; granted, not all of them are that helpful, but taken in mass, they paint a very revealing picture.

So, how does Champions World Resort near Orlando Florida fare? Not that badly, as it turns out…

TripAdvisor Reviews

Of the 2878 reviews on TripAdvisor, the majority (895, in fact) fall into the ‘Very Good’ category. 836 users rank it as ‘Excellent’, 529 as ‘Average’, 273 as ‘Poor’, and 345 as ‘Terrible’.

A typical example of a review in the ‘Excellent’ category reads:

Sincerely they have everything for the perfect vacations. Alfonso and María Colón, excellent staff, they have the solutions for anything and always have a smile. This was my second stay in Champions World Resort (October 2019 and Feb 2020), and I’m very sure, we will be back again.

A less enamored guest, on the other hand, writes:

Attendant who checked me in was not courteous at all. She said she couldn’t accommodate me to the first floor which was fine. Families in front of me got breakfast vouchers. When I inquired, she said she didn’t know what I was talking about. Instead of staring at me like I was crazy she could have explained it’s for certain guests or if we had to pay extra for it. The music was too loud and right in front of our room. Luckily it ended at 7. Pools were not heated. Not coming back.

Additional Reviews

The story is much the same elsewhere, with Expedia given the resort a respectable 3.5 out of 5 for room cleanliness, 3.7 for service and staff, 3.4 for room comfort, and 3.3 for hotel condition (rounding out to 3.5 overall). Orbitz, meanwhile, gives it a 3.2 out of 5 overall, while Booking.com extends a respectable 7.7 out of 10 overall.

Champions World Resort Rooms and Amenities

Champions World Resort near Orlando Florida is a large, lively, family-friendly resort with the look, feel, and amenities to match. Rooms are available in a variety of types, sizes, and rates, veering all the way from the basic ‘Standard Room’ to the super-luxe ‘Premium King’.

While in-room conveniences and amenities vary by type, there are certain things you can expect as standard, including tasteful décor, quality linens, complimentary Wi-Fi, a contemporary curved shower rod, refrigerators, microwaves, coffeemakers with complimentary coffee, complimentary copies of USA Today, iron/ironing boards, hairdryers, phone with voicemails, alarm clocks, and laptop size electronic safes.

For those traveling with their pets, there’s even the advantage of pet-friendly rooms, each of which can accommodate two pets of 35 pounds or less. Just remember that while the resort is happy to accept pets, there’s a price to pay for the privilege: expect to part with an additional $20 per night in pet fees.

Champions World Resort Check-In Time

Check-in and -out times at Champions World Resort are fairly standard, with check-in kicking off at 3.00 pm and the latest checkout being 11.00 am. If you want to squeeze every last drop possible out of your vacation (or if you’re simply arriving on an early flight), early check-in is available for an additional $35. Bear in mind that if you’re also planning a late check-out, a further fee will apply.

The check-in process is a simple, streamlined affair, but be sure to have your credit card at the ready. The resort will charge a minimum authorization of $50 to secure against any items, incidentals, or damages charged to your room that aren’t covered by the standard room rate.

If you don’t have a credit card handy, or are paying for your stay with cash, you’ll be asked to cough up the dough for the entire stay at check-in.

Champions World Resort Fee

While US citizens are probably already well versed in what a resort fee is, anyone traveling from Europe, Australia, and certain Asian countries are unlikely to know what a resort fee is.

A resort fee is an additional daily fee charged by an accommodation provider to cover amenities such as WIFI access, gym facilities, parking, shuttle services to local attractions, kid’s clubs and entertainment, and pool access. Not all resorts apply the fee, but of those that do, the amount can vary significantly.

In the case of Champions World Resort, expect to pay an extra $10.58 plus tax per night in resort fees.

The fee is not included in the quoted nightly rate and will be collected separately at check-in. Other extra charges you may need to think about include:

  • Additional Person Fee – $15 each per night plus tax
  • Daily Pet Fee – $20 per night plus tax
  • Rollaway Bed – $15 each per night plus tax
  • Early check-in – $35.

What Restaurants Are At Champions World Resort Orlando Florida

If you want to enjoy great food without having to leave the comfort of your hotel, you won’t be disappointed with the onsite wining and dining opportunities at Champions World Resort. Frazier’s Place Restaurant & Lounge does a fine trade in classic American fare and world cuisine: regardless of whether you’re craving a big, sloppy hamburger, a bowl of fresh garden salad, or some spicy chicken wings, you’re almost guaranteed to find something to tickle those taste buds.

Open from dawn to dusk, Frazier’s Place is a great little spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner… although before you get too carried away, it’s worth remembering food isn’t included in the room rates.

The price for A La Carte items will be referenced on the menu, while each continental breakfast is charged at a fixed $7.00 + 7.5% tax and gratuity. If you opt for the Buffet Breakfast, expect it to set you back $12.00 + 7.5% tax and gratuity. Kids under 10 eat for free, provided they’re accompanied by a paying adult.

If you’d rather something a little more casual than Frazier’s, try the vibrant little tiki bar Coconut Shrimp for size. Perfect for those lazy days when you can’t bring yourself to leave your lounger, the bar serves up a great selection of poolside drinks, appetizers, and light snacks… the music is none too shabby, either.

Champions World Resort Shuttle

Unless you’ve got money to burn, save yourself the expense of taxis or uber’s during your stay by taking full advantage of the Champions World Resort free shuttle service.

The service runs regularly throughout the day, shuttling guests back and forth between the resort and a plethora of top Orlando destinations, including the nearby Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores, SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios Florida, and Walt Disney World Resort.

The shuttle provider, Plantinum Transportation Inc, has been specially chosen by the resort for their knowledge of the area and the driving records of the drivers (not to mention their efficiency and friendliness), so you can be sure you and your family are in safe hands.

Champions World Resort to Disney World

If you want to visit Disney World during your vacation, you’ll find Champions World Resort primely situated. You can take advantage of the resort’s free shuttle service or you can take a car or taxi.  This trip is an easy 15 minutes away. If you opt for a taxi, expect to pay around $30-$40 per one-way trip.

If you’d rather go by public transportation, you’re out of luck. Although you could feasibly make it by bus, the lack of direct route between the two destinations will result in a mind-numbing 2hr 42min ride each way.

Champions World Resort to Epcot

If you’re planning on taking at least one trip to Epcot during your vacation, basing yourself at the Champions World Resort makes a great choice. Located just 9 miles apart, the journey between the two can be made in one of three ways (excluding the free resort shuttle service).

That said, unless you want to ride out a 2h 45-minute bus drive, you’ll be better off taking a taxi or driving yourself. Either way, the ride should take no more than around 11 minutes each way.
